Techulsion

Post by carl wise » Thu Dec 30, 2004 9:54 am

I recently adjusted the R259 Techlusion fuel mgt controller on my '03 RT, and wow- what a difference! It runs much smoother with more predictable throttle response. I have some, but limited, technical understanding of how this system works. I would like to improve my knowlege about this general topic and learn why BMW doesn't just re-tune the FI settings. The only noticable downside of what I have done is that my mileage has decreased by about 4-7 percent, but the plugs look normal (not dark or sooty). Tx.

Techlusion's website has a lot of good info. Here is one page describing the changes from the older type to the R259.
