You were at Lynn's? We (BRBs) were at La Taza getting poor service, but good coffee. Plenty room for us on the terrace. We got our first cup of "bottomless" coffee, those who ordered a full breakfast got that, and those who ordered a muffin never got that even after a couple additional requests. Coffee refills were a little hard to come by, but we were patient. The waitress did concede that the muffin was ordered by putting it, along with an extra coffee order on the bill. Otherwise, it seemed like a good spot for a leisurely pre-ride meet. They didn't seem to mind us taking up space for a couple hours.

The Thomas House

The Thomas House in Dayton has a nice home-style breakfast at attractive prices. Sometimes you get a strange look from the customers - the typical "is that a Power Ranger" gaze. They have a small bar style seating area with 4 stools as well.

Check out their model of the Silver Lake Mill then ride up the road and check out the real thing.

Durbin

Coming home from Helvetia Sunday morning we were looking for breakfast and ended up in Durbin. We didn't see anything promising in Huttonsville and knew there would be nothing until Monterey, so we stopped. The restaurant has some affiliation with the local VFD, and had sort of a firehouse decor and attitude about it. Being September 11, there were TVs blaring the latest stories and every now and then some radio would squawk. Not my favorite atmosphere but not bad. The coffee was pretty bad, though, but the food (we both ordered omelets) was good I thought. Nice sunny windows along the street and there is seating for a group although they might not have the kitchen staff for it.

It's the only thing around and it's not bad at all.

Not a breakfast spot, but the Stonefire Station in Barboursville is excellent. Our family enjoyed lunch on the patio today - great food and reasonable prices. Open daily 11-7. Here's the website: http://stonefirestation.com

It's been a while.

Looking at Google Maps, I think Lynne's has become a Mexican restaurant like so many others have. La Taza continues to decay slowly (for us it is summer-only now) but the coffee is good IMO. Meredith and I became regulars at The Villa (Emmett Street) for a while, but they have only 4-top and 6-top booths. There is a new place (with a Greek accent) on Fontaine called The Breakfast House in the old Schnitzel House building. OK coffee, nice menu, tables are a bit funky in that you can't pull your chair in quite far enough.

It's been a few years since we all went to Stoney Creek, I think. The oddest thing I remember about that place was that coffee was served as a breakfast item with the meal rather than before, and getting refills was a bit of an ordeal. I personally like the coffee to flow freely.

Troy tells me the Blue Toad has been reborn as some sort of pub. Other than that, I have no idea what is going on down 151.

I would recommend The Tavern Charlottesville. Good food and the service is fast.

The Tavern in Charlottesville on Emmet Street, once a hang-out for Blue Ridge Beemers back in the Steve Coburn days, closed in 2011. Unless there's another Tavern you're referring to??

Jack's Shop Kitchen in Ruckersville (at 29/33 intersection) might be worth a try for breakfast.

I've only been there a couple times for lunch, so no experience with their breakfast menu, which seems to change frequently. Lunch was very good both times I was there and they had open seating with plenty of space to show motorcycle gear while eating.

Unfortunately, Stone Fire Station closed their doors a while back (a couple years ago IIRC).

I've been there for the last two Birthday Rides... it's a perfectly fine place, with lots of space, good food and good coffee. Not the cheapest place but reasonable. We could do FAR worse than meeting there.
