Hello

Post by MikeyM » Thu May 24, 2007 9:38 am

I am in the process of re-locating to the Blue Ridge area, probably Charlottesville, Harrisonburg or somewhere in between. As I have recently sold my R100GS, I will be purchasing a new ride.

I would like to hear your opinions of the closest dealers, Morton's and Hammersley. Please let me know which dealer you prefer and why.

Thanks for your help.

I'm equidistant from Morton's and Hammersley. I usually go to Hammersley because:
1. It's a better ride.
2. Last minute appointments are easier to get.
3. They have a better coffee machine.

But if you'll be in the C'ville area, what about Largiader Cycles?

Thanks for the info Chuck.

Is Largiader Cycles a BMW dealer? I'm planning on purchasing a new bike.

It's forum administrator Anton's BMW service/repair shop (see the the Classified section of this forum). You'll have to go to Morton's or Hammersley for a new bike.

Locals seem to have positive experiences with both dealerships. Morton's is much bigger. It might just come down to which one is closer for you. What sort of bike are you looking for?

I'm still undecided. I am considering both the GS and R1200R.

BTW- This is a great little web site you have here. Being new to the area, it's nice to have a resource for local BMW motorcycle info. Thanks!
