Folks,
I've got an 1974 R75/6 . Bought a Parabellum windscreen and to install it
I need to remove the nut on the top of each fork that holds the spring in.
I don't have a socket or wrench nearly that large.
(It's about 1- 7/16 inches; 36 to 37 mm).
Anyone (a) know what size it is
(b) got a socket or wrench they could loan me for a couple of days?
Prefer a socket so I can re-torque it properly.
Also, advice, experiences, comments regarding the windscreen
and/or installation welcome.
Thanks,
Tim

Have the toolkit? There's a flat wrench in that which works perfectly. Hit it with a soft mallet.

Duh.
Yes, and clearly haven't used it in a long while.
Thanks for the tip.
Any advice on re-installing? Clymers' manual says 87 ft lbs, which with this wrench, is likely more than I can get on it.
Thanks again.

It's just good and tight. Whack with a mallet a few times. It would take incredible carelessness to damage those threads; they are pretty stout.
