May First Sunday Ride

Posted: Sun Apr 24, 2005 9:52 am Post subject: May First Sunday Ride

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We'll meet on Sunday, May 1 at the Ravens Roost Overlook at Milepost 10.7 on the Blue Ridge Parkway (just south of Humpback Rocks). Jeff Ward has generously offered to provide a breakfast of ham biscuits, fruit, cinnamon buns, and coffee. To help Jeff plan quantities, be sure to check YES on the poll above if you plan to be there. The current weather forecast calls for a chance of rain on May 1, so we'll count on that not holding true by the ride day! Check this thread for updates or changes as May 1 approaches.

Meet to eat at 9:00 AM

Sorry, I will be unable to attend this months break fast. Planning on cruzen NYC on Sunday morning. Also will recreate the Holland Tunnel poster, as it should have been done the first time. On an RT. J.D.

Tomorrow morning breakfast and ride

Post by jeff.ward » Sat Apr 30, 2005 7:36 pm

Hi All, With any luck, this front will move through during the night and give us a nice day tomorrow. If for some reason it is too bad for meeting at Raven's Roost for breakfast, I'll post something by 7 a.m. tomorrow morning. Does that sound OK? Hope it works out. Jeff

Sound good to me. If you would like to give us a call we could relay the message to everyone but Dave. I don't think we have his number. 434.974.7069

Weather update- looks OK

Post by jeff.ward » Sun May 01, 2005 6:43 am

Good Morning,
The weather looks pretty good for our breakfast and ride this morning. Radar shows that the showers are leaving, and improving conditions for the day. Hope to see you later, Jeff

How did this go? Sunday ended up being a pretty nice day (windy, but nice) out here in the Midwest.

Hot biscuits, cold, gusty gale

Post by jeff.ward » Mon May 02, 2005 2:22 pm

Hi Anton, We had 8 or 9 bikes and riders. It was real good to meet everybody and see some different bikes. Wish it were about 10 degrees warmer. Those heated handgrips felt pretty good on the ride back home.
Best to all. Jeff
