Chase away the January doldrums with a bonfire! This Saturday, weather permitting, we'll be having a bonfire here and grilling some stuff. Anyone local is free to drop by. Nothing major, just a big fire (we need to get rid of some brush) and some beer and grillable stuff. BUT please let me know if you're planning to drop by because I should know these things (I'm sure it will be helpful somehow).
In fact I was going to NOT tell you how to get here, just so you'd need to contact me, but here goes: 670 Rio Road East, Charlottesville. We are right across from the sign for the Catholic School, three houses south of Pen Park Road. Sometime after dark.
295-0496. Stay tuned for weather updates that might change everything.

We came, we burned, we drank, we ate. Meredith's folks were visiting, Chuck and his family (Suzanne and Eliza) showed up, Steve (our realtor), Dan and Debby, Neal, Steven and Cathy... and us. I think that's it. Lit a big old fire, stood around and drank some beer and talked motorcycling. About eight thirty we retired to the house to grill stuff. I guess the temperature was below freezing starting in the late afteernoon, but it wasn't that bad being outside.
Despite a bit of disorganization, things worked out pretty well and we have plenty of wood left so maybe in another month we'll do this again.
I'm sure I misspelled a lot of names so please post corrections!
