Breakfast at Ms Rowe's in Staunton 9:00 am. I may be headed to Willville that day after breakfast, anyone else is free to ride along. Butch

See you at 9 am, Butch. I can ride down some of the BRP with you. Look forward to it.

I really wanted to go, but Friday my bike got flattened by a huge dump truck. The truck backed up into my bike (and almost over me). I survivied, but my bike is down for a while. Much thanks to Richard, another BMW rider, for his support.

Dick says you rode it home, so we expected you at breakfast!

He and I had a meandering ride back to the C-ville area during which I pointed out some of the houses Meredith and I had considered when we moved here. Then had a beer at Blue Mountain. :)

The /5 is hugely improved by the 5-speed transmission. I really like riding that bike (but one of these winters it needs a top-end overhaul).

It was a slow agonizing ride home ... I will know Thursday if it is going to be salvaged or repaired. Bad time of year to be without a bike.

Update ... bike dead. Now shopping for a GS, after the insurance is settled.

I figured that would be the case. The K12 plastic is extremely expensive, and if the front fairing bracket was twisted the replacement labor alone would be a lot.

You'll love the GS!

Hey, can you save that new front tire?

Anton, I had that same thought ... but it is too late. At least I did put almost 2K on it since March.

Please keep your eyes open for a late model GS with low miles.

Ouch! That really sucks, but at least you weren't injured.

Time to make those lemons into lemonade... Take that insurance check (don't let e'm low ball you either!) and enjoy shopping for a new bike. I think the GS will be a nice change of pace for you. If something like that happened to my GT, I'd probably end up with a new F800GS. Would love to have the S100RR, but I really need to keep my drivers license.

I love the F800GS, but they are a bit too tall for me. R1200GS is what I am looking for now. 05, 06, or 07.

Paul,

Here is one listed on e-Bay that might be worth a look: http://snipurl.com/w5jdy

In Rockville, MD - '09 R1200GSA with only 4,032 miles.

Thanks Mike, that is a nice bike, but a bit too much for me (adventure height). But, I have found one ... a 2006 GS, low miles (less than 7000), luggage (sides and top case), no issues, for under $10K. I do have to drive a bit to get it. Hopefully will pick it up next week. I put a deposit on it today, and will mail the check later this week.
