Hi all,

Hope y'all had a nice Thanksgiving and didn't acquire too much extra "beemer ballast" from all the turkey and stuffing.

Let's figure out where to meet and ride on December 6th. It's probably getting to be that time of the year to move our First Sunday ride over to this side (east) of the mountains, and also time for a later start.

Location? How about La Cocina del Sol in Crozet (http://lacocina-crozet.com)? Looks like they open for Sunday brunch at 10:30, so I'm thinking...

Eat at 10:30
Ride at 11:30(ish)

We could do a nice meandering ride through Albemarle County after brunch. Maybe something like this:

Let me know what you think.

I'll try to make it if I can get a front tire on by then.

If the weather that's called for holds or improves, it sounds good to me!

I moved to VA for the benefit of less to non-existent snow & warmer temperatures, thus more riding time. What is this? Currently, it's warmer in NH and Philadelphia (from where I came) than here in Virginia.

Ha! Hope you didn't get rid of your cold weather riding gear. It's all my fault--the snow and cold weather followed me home from Denver, where it was a whopping 4 degrees on Thursday morning with a high of 22F. Temps in the low 30s feel pretty good by comparison.

Guess I'll be firing up the ol' Gerbings today... Still heading over to Crozet in about an hour IF there isn't too much ice in front of my storage unit.

How was the ride? I'd not have been able to get out my driveway.

Well, I rode over to Crozet Sunday morning but nobody else showed up. Had a few cups of java and decided to skip the buffet (it looked really good though). Went for a short ride down to Scottsville, which was actually rather nice--not too many patches of snow remained by early afternoon except in the shady spots. Since I had the day off work on Monday, I went out and did a nice 200-mile loop on this side of the mountain: Lynchburg, Appomattox, Amelia Court House, and back to C'ville. Very enjoyable day and I verified that my Gerbings work pretty well, especially now that I've swapped out the shorty ZTech windshield for the stock GT shield. Makes a huge difference for winter riding!

By the way, the Richmond BMW Riders are having their holiday party this weekend (Dec 13th at Babes of Carytown) if anyone is interested. I may head down there if the weather isn't too crappy.
