August First Sunday Breakfast

Post by Chuck » Tue Jul 24, 2007 9:09 am

We'll meet Sunday, August 5 at the Lovingston Cafe, 165 Front Street on the south end of Lovingston. Expect a ride west on VA 56 to the BRP and beyond.

Eat at 9:00 AM
Ride at 10:00 AM

Map and Directions:

Other August ride possibilities: Helvetia on a Saturday? August 18 looks good for me. Any other suggestions?

Where might Helvetia be ?
And you might ask yourself, "where does that highway go?"

Helvetia, WV is about 67 miles west/northwest of Monterey, VA. Here's a link: http://mysite.verizon.net/davewhipp/index.html

Count me in! I'll bring the new (to me) K1 and, um, try to ride much safer than last year. I do NOT want repeat the end result of my last outing with you guys! ;-)

Planning to ride down to Lovingston with a good friend who recently purchashed his first beemer--a brand new R1200GS Adventure!

See you on Sunday...

Here's the official Helvetia web site:
http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/6192/

I was thinking of meeting for breakfast around 8:00 AM at The Little Grill, heading out US 33 to Helvetia and returning by US 250. Saturday will miss the Sunday lunch buffet crowd at The Hutte and provide a ride for BRB's that can't make it on Sundays. I don't have the mileage, but it would be an all day ride.

So, if that sounds good, we can post the Ride to Helvetia on Sat. Aug. 18 as a BRB EVENT. The only conflict I'm aware of is the Highland Fling Rally on Cape Breton. And Hotsprings Rally (BC) and Four Winds Rally (PA).

Chuck, I'd be up for that ride unless I decide to head up to PA for the 41st Four Winds Rally http://www.4windsbmw.org/cms/staticpage ... page=rally the weekend of 18-19 August.

Saturday, Aug 18 looks good for me, too. Helvetia sounds great! I cannot make this Sunday's ride.

Twelve of us; not bad. Unfortunately we found ourselves in a breakfast-free zone and had to head over to 151 and then up to Nellysford where we went to the restaurant at Stony Creek. Not bad; a bit over air conditioned IMO.

I think I'm 'in' for Helvetia.
