BRB Covered Bridge Tour

Post by Chuck » Wed May 09, 2007 10:29 am

The six historic bridges on the VDOT brochure of covered bridges lay out a nice 350-mile route to Willville. We'll meet for breakfast Saturday, May 19 at 8:00 AM at The Little Grill, 621 N Main St in Harrisonburg. The ride will begin at 9:00 AM sharp. A moderate pace and lots of stops should put us at Meadows of Dan and Willville before 6:00 PM for overnight camping. The Blue Ridge Motel is nearby for non-campers. We'll return by an alternate route along the Blue Ridge Sunday morning.

Sorry Chuck, I'm taking a stayen safe training tour this weekend, so I will be unable to make this. We may however, pass each other on the way. We are going to end up on Saterday night at Natural Bridge.
And you might ask yourself, "where does that highway go?"

Ride Report

Post by Chuck » Tue May 29, 2007 8:56 am

Four of us had a great ride down, hitting the four public road accessible bridges on the way. I had 320 total miles from breakfast on Sat. We picked up Rick from Morgantown to make it five for the return north. There were lots of photos taken if someone could post a link to a photo sharing site (Smugmug, Photobucket, etc). I'll try to post some before departure for Asheville.
