February First Sunday

Post by Chuck » Fri Jan 26, 2007 7:01 pm

We'll meet Sunday, February 4 at La Cocina del Sol, 1200 Crozet Avenue (VA 240 just south of the RR overpass) in Crozet.

Eat at 9:00 AM
Ride at 10:00 AM (if one develops)

There is a map link and other information on La Cocina del Sol here:

Also, J.D.'s scouting report is on the BRB Forum under "Breakfast Spots" in General Chat.

Breakfast?

Post by Al Smith » Fri Feb 02, 2007 6:53 pm

Is the restaurant open for breakfast at 9:00? I believe that the information piece says it opens at 10:30 on Sundays. Is this correct, or are they opening early for us?

I called earlier and they said they opened at 8:30 AM on Sundays. J.D ate breakfast there at around 9:00 AM on a Sunday morning scouting trip (reported uner Breakfast Spots in General Chat). However, they told Harvey they opened at 10:30 AM. So, I called again just now. The woman that answered said they opened at 10:30 AM for brunch. When I asked if they were open earlier for breakfast, she said they they would be open at 9:00 AM this Sunday, but not after this week. They are expecting 8 to 10 of us for breakfast tomorrow at 9:00 AM.

La Concina del Sol opened for five of us--four by Beemer and one by Bimmer. Good service and plenty room for more of us (we were the only breakfast customers). La Taza may beat them for coffee and breakfast options, but the brunch buffet they were laying out looked impressive. No group ride developed this time.

I wondered how many brave souls showed up! I was up in PA at an Airheads gathering. Meredith was home but she forgot!!

Next month I'm probably going to be down in Daytona for the MOTO-ST race again. April's not looking so good either; I forget what's happening but I found out about it last weekend and now I need to remember what it is...
