March First Sunday Breakfsat and Ride

Post by Chuck » Wed Mar 01, 2006 10:19 am

We'll meet Sunday, March 5 at 10:00 AM for brunch at Stoney Creek Bar and Grill at the Stoney Creek Golf Course on VA 151 just north of Nellysford in Nelson County. No ride route planned yet, so bring your suggestions.

OK, we'll be there! I think a few people were expecting to meet in Farmville this month but we'll just have to hope they read this forum. :)

I enjoyed brunch and meeting some other riders today. Jay and I enjoyed a nice ride up 56 and part of the BRP. I eventually caught up to him (when he stopped). :D

All three of us had a goot time at the brunch and the ride. Good company, good food, no traffic, good ride!

The good weather brought out 15 of us to brunch at Stoney Creek B&G. The consensus at breakfast was to return to Farmville for brunch at Charley's Waterside Cafe in April. Should we give the Twin Valley Riders another opportunity to meet up with us?

I figured most of the gang was going to go down to 56 but everyone followed us up to the BRP at Wintergreen. I pulled off at an overlook to let some folks pass and then took the Smiths on a tour of Dogpatch before hooking up with the rest of y'all in Greenwood.

Next month, Farmville sounds great. In fact we're already planning on it. I moved my other appointment to the following weekend so I'll be able to meet you there.

I wondered why we headed up SR 664 instead of continueing to VA 56. From Greenwood, Butch led us up SR 810 to US 33 where the group split again, with Butch and me heading over Swift Run Gap where we caught up with traffic backed up following one of Coors new brewing tanks down the mountain. We killed time on Skyline Drive while the traffic cleared.

See y'all in Farmville.
