Trooper crashes bike enroute to chase

They kind of glossed over it but I bet he didn't get cited:

I wonder if he maybe wasn't Albemarle, since they have ABS-equipped R1200RTs.

October 1st Sunday (actually Sunday!) Helvetia?

I posted this before but it's just gone. Must have hit the wrong button. Especially if people are trying to go to Morton's on the Saturday and Willville isn't working out, I'd like to suggest that we head over to Helvetia on Sunday for lunch. Largely, the reason is that I feel we (at least I) never ...

September 1st Sunday - Sherando Rally

I think we should stick to the tradition of having the September breakfast at the Sherando rally. You don't have to attend the rally to show up for breakfast, it's pretty cheap and it's a benefit. Plus there's plenty of tire-kicking to do. Rally info: http://www.rbmwr.com/35th-annual-sherando-valley...

Re: Charlottesville Bike Nights

I think Wild Wings just had a fire. The Amtrak station re-opened but I don't know about the restaurant.

Re: July 2010 1st? Sunday

At some point I'd like to do a ride to Helvetia for lunch, but we might have to make sure they are open. That would be a ride from somewhere (for breakfast) to Helvetia and then home; a pretty full day. Maybe that should be the joint event with the TVR? I wish there were a place west of Churchville ...

July 2010 1st? Sunday

We floated the idea of actually meeting on the second Sunday (July 11th), given the likelihood of holiday traffic on the roads and in the diners. So we have a date to decide as well as a location. We could try to organize another combined TVR/BRB event at Otter Creek. That one should definitely be o...

Re: BRB stickers

The stickers have been found! Actually, I always had a small stash of them but the bulk were handed off to Troy to eventually give to Chuck, but Troy still has them. I guess circumstances got in the way. :( Anyone who wants to drop by here for a fresh BRB sticker is welcome to. I think we need to fo...

How will that be different than any other time? Some friends of mine rode down to NC last weekend and saw an unbelievable amount of revenuing going on all over VA.

I figured that would be the case. The K12 plastic is extremely expensive, and if the front fairing bracket was twisted the replacement labor alone would be a lot.

You'll love the GS!

Hey, can you save that new front tire?

Re: 1 st Sunday ride May 2 nd

Dick says you rode it home, so we expected you at breakfast! He and I had a meandering ride back to the C-ville area during which I pointed out some of the houses Meredith and I had considered when we moved here. Then had a beer at Blue Mountain. :) The /5 is hugely improved by the 5-speed transmiss...

Local weekday get-togethers

Anyone know of any? I've seen a few in the past but I don't know which of them are still active. Used to be one that Steve Coburn started up in Forest Lakes. Was one at the Wild Wing cafe, by the Amtrak station. Just heard of one at McGrady's on Wednesday afternoons. Might be the Wild Wing one has m...

Might be a good excuse for a Sunday morning breakfast ride. Saturday mornings are usually taken up with running stuff.

That certainly doesn't sound like a bike I've seen before here in town.
