Re: First Ride of 2010

and I will definitely be at Morton's open house in April. P.S. - Dude, you're gonna love the new S1000RR. What an awesome machine! Morton's had 3 or 4 of them sitting on the showroom floor when I was in there a week or two ago. Sitting on BMW's new liter bike, it feels like a 600cc, weight-wise. I'...

Re: First Ride of 2010

I'll plan on seeing you sometime during the first week of April and riding with all of the Blue Ridge Riders at least by the first weekend of May if not the first weekend of April and I will definitely be at Morton's open house in April. I'm having bike gear withdrawals. Ahem... You are having bike...

March First Sunday Ride

Greetings all, Hope everyone is done clearing driveways of snow for a while and ready to ride those Beemers. Yes, it's high time to unhook the damn battery tenders, inspect your machines, change the fluids, and pour some fresh fuel in the tank after the long winter hibernation period! (Unless you've...

Re: First Ride of 2010

Short fairings are to blame for feeling a little chilly? That sounds like "old woman" syndrome to me. When I get home from Afghanistan I guess I'll have to take that chilly ol'F800 off your arthritic hands granny. Of course, I'll have to remove the handy cap rails you've had installed and I'll prob...

Re: RA Rally

I've been checking the RA web site daily as well. Nothing but rumors, chatter, and complaints posted on the RA forum at this point. I'm hoping for upstate New York or somewhere in New England this year. The location and timing of the RA rally will play into my decision on whether to ride out...

Re: January 23: slide show at Morton's

A friend of mine, Jason Adams, is holding a slide show about the GS Trophy in Tunisia. I don't know the details but maybe Morton's will post something on their site (at the moment there isn't anything). Jason was one of the six riders (three journalists and three "reg'lar folk") selected by BMWNA t...

Re: First Ride of 2010

I, too, was able to squeeze in a coupe short rides last weekend. Fired up Cyndi's Silverwing for a 50-mile "battery charge" and came back to exchange it for the F800, which was a much colder ride with its mini fairing and windshield. Hoping to stretch the GT's legs a bit sometime this weekend--gotta...

Re: December First Sunday Ride, 12/06/2009

How was the ride? I'd not have been able to get out my driveway. Well, I rode over to Crozet Sunday morning but nobody else showed up. Had a few cups of java and decided to skip the buffet (it looked really good though). Went for a short ride down to Scottsville, which was actually rather nic...

Re: December First Sunday Ride, 12/06/2009

I moved to VA for the benefit of less to non-existent snow & warmer temperatures, thus more riding time. What is this? Currently, it's warmer in NH and Philadelphia (from where I came) than here in Virginia. Ha! Hope you didn't get rid of your cold weather riding gear. It's all my fault--the ...

Re: Our Chartered Club Info - Time to Update?

Thanks for the update, Anton. I totally agree! We should allow the club charter to lapse because there is no real benefit and many disadvantages with the way things are going lately. Hell, I'd much rather be out riding than dealing with the logo and trademark police. It boggles the mind that BMW AG ...

December First Sunday Ride, 12/06/2009

Hi all, Hope y'all had a nice Thanksgiving and didn't acquire too much extra "beemer ballast" from all the turkey and stuffing. Let's figure out where to meet and ride on December 6th . It's probably getting to be that time of the year to move our First Sunday ride over to this side (east) of ...

Re: November 15th ride

Do the Richmond BMW riders meet at 9:00am at Babe's? They give a time span from 9-3 for when brunch is served but don't say specifically when they meet. Yeah, some deeper web-digging is necessary. :P The calendar on the RBMWR web site (http://www.rbmwr.com/modules.php?name=Calendar) says 9:00-11:00...
